Today in hospitality we need to know what are strengths and weaknesses to help better understand who we are, today the topic was asked for me to research a reader’s choice Award winning author of the book named the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.
Stephen R. Covey is a renowned leadership authority, family expert, teacher, organizational consultant, and co-founder of FranklinCovey Co. He is author of several international bestsellers, including The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, which has sold over 20 million copies. He was named one of TIME Magazine’s 25 Most Influential Americans. Dr. Covey holds the Jon M. Huntsman Presidential Chair in Leadership at the Huntsman School of Business at Utah State University.

Based on the 7 habits, the 3 that stand out for my own personality traits would be
Habit # 1 -Be proactive – I love to get things done and see the end results that things are moving forward in a positive state of mind that working hard has its accomplishments and rewards.
Habit # 4 – Think Win-Win – When it comes to working in hospitality over the years of my career, I have learned that to apply the win-win in customer services or in business will be the happy medium, because no one wins if one losses.
Habit # 6 – Synergize – I believe my team first approach and open door policy leads the way to fellow co-workers to believe and buy into the concept of teamwork that together everyone achieves more.
Applying these 3 habits in my education career has helped me to understand that being proactive becomes a habit of getting things done and seeing the end results. My learning of win-win in customer service is also helped me in College working in group work, we all want to be successful in receiving high marks, but we must learn to work together and work hard that everyone in the group is a true winner if we all do are fair share, it becomes a win-win. Having everyone believe and buy into the concept, have a plan, take action together and be passionate from start to end.
